Climbing guides Paklenica and Croatia
Climbing guides Paklenica and Croatia can be a source for exploring and expanding new climbing horizons. With them, we will definitely reach many beautiful places and diversify our vacation.
As a climber, I love browsing guidebooks because I get a lot of useful ideas and what I can definitely say is that our southern neighbor has enormous potential for new climbing areas that are constantly being created. The new Croatia guidebook is richer and thicker than its predecessor and already boasts 608 pages.
The guide is divided into Istria and Kvarner, Dalmatia and the northern part of Croatia, so you will definitely find something for yourself.
A few tips
- Rovinj is a beautiful town where there is a wonderful climbing area right by the sea, a remnant of a former quarry, suitable for families and with plenty of easier routes.
- The island of Hvar and the Šuplja Stina climbing area - also suitable as an idea for a New Year's getaway. Beautiful ambiance
- Dabarski kukovi - primitive climbing, with longer routes that require climbing skills on multiple pitches. Beautiful nature, but beware - snakes are also part of it!
Paklenica
When I read mountaineering books, there is hardly a climber or alpinist who would not dedicate some of his notes to Paklenica. Paklenica is interesting for climbers especially in spring and autumn days, when the temperatures are bearable and it is possible to climb all day. However, if you are planning a family summer vacation, we advise you to start climbing very early and be back and hopping on the beach in the exemplary morning time.
Paklenica allows for both long sport climbing routes as well as sport climbing and bouldering.
