Who is Gornik?
Gornik is built up of people—ordinary individuals—who found their mission and vision in creating excellent clothing for hiking, mountaineering, ski touring, and alpinism. We take pride in crafting our products in the most beautiful country in the world, Slovenia. Our greatest advantage is the ability to customize products to your wishes, ensuring you’ll enjoy using them.
Mission and Vision
Our primary task is to provide alpinists, mountaineers, hikers, and active individuals with comfortable and functional clothing made from the best materials. Products must be tailored to fit the user perfectly. We aim to offer top-brand technical equipment and provide professional support by advising customers on the use of individual products.
Through our in-house developed products, we strive to strengthen and expand our position in the domestic market. With new products, we also aim to break into the international market.
Professional Approach
With our knowledge, experience, and expertise in alpinism, mountaineering, and hiking, we offer users excellent advice on how and why specific products are used. All the products we sell are tested and used by our sales staff or employees.
Creativity and In-House Development
By seeking the right ideas—focused primarily on practical solutions—we continuously improve our own production. Through innovation and modern materials, we offer customers contemporary designs, appealing color combinations, and functional product shapes. In collaboration with suppliers, we expand our product range with items born from innovative development.
Efficiency and Teamwork
Working with colleagues, we constantly seek new and more efficient solutions to serve our customers as best as possible. Together, we explore modern solutions in terms of comfort and functionality. We recognize that progress is only possible by refining and encouraging good ideas—and implementing them when they prove viable. We offer competitively priced, high-quality products.
To the greatest extent possible, we support young alpinists and climbers in their pursuits. This also allows us to gather early feedback on the quality of our own products, which we can effectively use in development and production.
History
The company GORNIK AVANTURA, D.O.O. has operated in the Slovenian market since 2003. Before that, Matjaž and Mojca each gained experience in their respective fields. Initially, the company manufactured products for a well-known client from city Kranj under their brand. After a highly successful start, the collaboration ended, but new doors opened for us. Unprepared, we were thrown into the deep end and forced to create our own path. Soon after, we registered our own brand, GORNIK.
We set up a small space where we could sell our products. From the very beginning, we have developed our own products, adapting them as much as possible to users’ needs. The business grew year after year.
In 2013, the company transformed into a new legal entity. During this time, we underwent reorganization. We began selling technical gear, significantly expanding our product range. We modernized production, launched an online store, hired additional staff, and opened a larger store, warehouse, and office. We also strengthened the company’s development department.
