Pontetorto is the first fleece manufacturer to strive for a very current
environmental issue: dangerous microplastics polluting waters worldwide
world. Biopile is the first fabric whose flock particles do not emit
no dangerous microplastic particles and thus protect rivers, lakes,
the seas and the creatures in them, and consequently us.
Biopile is unique in its construction. The inner rough side of the fabric
is not made of polyester (as with conventional fibers), but of 100%
Lenzig Tencel fiber. This fiber is biodegradable - even in seawater!
If the fabric were to release even the smallest particles of fleece during rinsing,
These decompose within 90 days without leaving any residues in the environment, which means that they do not
endanger living beings. On the smooth outer surface, 100% is used
recycled polyester.
Biopile combines all the advantages of greater functionality with environmental
awareness, as Tencel is considered a natural functional fiber with excellent
climate regulation and moisture transport properties. In addition, Tencel is
the first fiber certified as biodegradable in seawater.
