The Guide to Protected Climbing Routes 2020 describes 62 of the most important and interesting climbing routes in Slovenia and the surrounding area, in the Western Julian Alps and on the Austrian side of the Karavanke Mountains.
The fourth, updated and expanded edition of the guide follows the spirit of the times, also presenting some technically demanding super ferratas, which in recent years, despite the controversies that have accompanied their creation, have experienced a real boom.
The described tours fall into the medium difficulty category, but due to the severity of the mountain environment, they require an experienced and physically well-prepared mountaineer.
Shorter, but not necessarily easy, via ferratas in the central mountains and Primorska can be just a pleasant afternoon trip for experienced hikers, while for beginners they will serve as an excellent introduction to more serious tours, which are not lacking in the book.
