How to choose gloves?
Gloves
We all love using gloves, whether for a stroll in the city or for short or long walks in nature. However, we will definitely take gloves with us for mountaineering, alpinism, and ski touring. How many pairs of gloves to bring is a matter of personal choice, but based on our own experience, we can advise that three pairs will cover all your needs! Thin gloves for the start or as approach gloves, warm and technical gloves for moving on ice and snow, and a spare pair in case the others get wet and become unusable!
When you need thinner yet warm gloves, we recommend purchasing the Black Diamond Midweight gloves, which are incredibly warm, practical, and durable.
For those who also need touchscreen compatibility, we offer the Black Diamond Midweight Digital gloves.
Thin gloves are ideal as liners, as gloves to warm your hands first thing in the morning, or to be replaced when there’s a chance they might get wet or when engaging in other activities (ski touring, ice climbing, mountaineering).
To meet a variety of needs, we’d like to introduce the Black Diamond Patrol gloves. These gloves are among the most versatile on the market, suitable for mountaineering, hiking, alpinism, and ski touring. They are the top choice for mountain guides because they are exceptionally warm, durable, and completely waterproof.
All ice climbing and alpinism enthusiasts will be happy to reach for the proven Black Diamond Punisher gloves. The ergonomic design allows for better handling of ice tools, the palm is reinforced with leather, and the knuckles are protected against impacts.
Gloves maintenance
With gloves, we must follow the rule: the more we care for them, the longer they will last. Therefore, it is essential to maintain, dry, and air them out. If you’re dealing with leather gloves, we recommend treating the leather with leather cream, as this will extend their lifespan.
Never dry gloves on a radiator, as this will damage the leather, cause the gloves to "crack," and harm the membrane. If your gloves are completely soaked, silica gel works wonders. We often overlook this gel, but it can help dry your gloves quickly! Dry gloves mean warm hands. Warm hands mean a pleasant day outside, where we’ve done something good for ourselves again!
